what does a New Year hold for you?

what does a New Year hold for you?

What does 2015 hold for you?

It holds what is in your hands. It holds what you reach out for. It holds what you take hold of.

It holds what your heart is willing to open itself to. Where your feet are willing to walk. Wherever you sights are willing to be set. What your mind is willing to dream. Whatever your hands are willing to receive.

It may hold forgiveness. friendship. freedom. family.

It may hold creativity. compassion. conquering. construction.

It may hold new dreams. new skills. new experiences. new (fill in the blank).

but forget all that- it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something NEW. See I have already begun! do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland…Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed. ~Isaiah 43:18-19,20b NLT

With God…a new year…

it holds renewal.

it holds refreshment.

it holds a re-vision of what we wish to redo or want to remake.

God is pouring forth water in our dryness. He is clearing a way in our mess. He is passing on his presence, purpose, and power to us, his people.

All so we can take hold of a NEW thing.

Let us take hold of him, so he may take hold of us…

to open our hearts,

to embolden our steps,

to envision our eyes,

to enlighten our minds, and

to enable our hands.

Let us take hold of something new, only with Him we can do.

Father, we thank you that you bring beauty from ashes, strength from weakness, life from death, and freedom from captivity. Help us experience your unconditional love for us this new year and incomparable power. We ask that you would help us dream your dreams and enable our steps to move toward them this new year. Love…
