3 Ways to Feel God’s Love

3 Ways to Feel God’s Love

The pouty face. Maybe you’ve seen one on your first-born or used it yourself. The eyes that look up under furrowed brows. The plump lower lip thrown in for added affect. The slow motion blinking of thickened eyelashes. An attempt to pull on our heartstrings as they plead for mercy or maybe our money.

How can I say no? How long will my anger last or wallet hold out? How many seconds will go by before I show love through my attitude or actions again? The beauty of exploring our relationship with the good Father is that we learn his heart through the way we treat our own.Continue reading

Finding it Difficult to Feel God’s Love?

Finding it Difficult to Feel God’s Love?

We weren’t going to enjoy our first kiss until my man was ready to say, “I love you”. Think what you may, but for me this was a good plan. It gave significance to our first kiss and sweetness to when he said, “I love you”.

Nowadays I use the word “love” so much its like breezing through a box of Kleenex during a chick flick. Frequent. Not fully utilized. Eventually tossed in the garbage. “I love those shoes.” “I love my husband.” “I love your Tupperware.” “I love my children.” You get the drift.

Have you ever sat down in the seats feeling empty and stood up to leave experiencing a fullness and filling you didn’t know possible?

Often, we think that a change occurred because of the lovely smiles on the nice people we sat around, the songs in worship were ones we love, or even the teacher spoke with great power that particular day. Of course, these are all tools God uses, but what we most likely experienced was the presence of the Living God.Continue reading

A Daughter of Delight

A Daughter of Delight

I was single and out of college. It had been years since I had been asked out on a date, and I was searching and striving to find some level of contentment. While I was driving down a beautiful winding road, I was talking to God about wanting to be content but still crying out of my desire to have a life partner.

I came around a bend, looked up in the sky on a typical overcast Chicago-day and noticed some clouds parting. As the sun began to shine through the clouds, I realized the opening formed what looked to be a heart. There before me were sunrays shining through in the shape of a heart. Realizing this, I soaked in the Son-rays of love for me.Continue reading
